Curious Tails – A Whale Birth?

As I was closing the patio door today to go back to my MIL’s I noticed some activity in the water.  Two humongous whales.  Picture below is a picture of one of the two whales, the one I suspect to have been in labour.
Now this curious picture comes from a series of pictures that seems [...]

Project Erb Garden

I’m a bit of a dork/nerd/geek, and everyone who knows me (apart from the few misguided souls that witnessed my cool alter ego in action in London nightclubs), knows that, and is quite comfortable with that.  Things like electronic gadgets, php scripts, ajax, social media, fishing, squash, photography, ivf, cuisine and herbs etc. interest me, [...]

3dp3dt – Recouping

It’s the third day past my 3 day transfer.  If Transfer was Tuesday, then Friday is 3dp3dt, right?  I always get a little confused with this counting of days.
Anyhow, not much is happening apart from me slowly recouping thanks to DH’s immaculate shopping skills and Woolies ready-made meals *she types, muching some macaroni & cheese [...]

Post Transfer Bloat

Olly shmoke, I’ve only been this bloated since my 3rd IUI – OHSS (Ovarian Hyper Stimulation Syndrome), so me seems to think that I have another mild version of the dreaded IVF after effect.
Had DH up and running every few hours last night ’cause I was not quite able to get up on my own [...]

A turn of events…

Went to the clinic this morning, expecting only a briefing on the status of our embies.  Well, according to Dr.J & Dr.V the quality of the cohort is so drastically different (better) from our previous IVF that they suggested we go ahead with a day 3 transfer and freeze the rest.
So we transferred 2 and [...]

What happened to a good ol shag and a missed period?

I’m telling you this IVF business is not for the faint hearted.  Everytime I do one I think, “Never again!” but as soon as that negative hCG call arrives I’m fired up with the fury of a thousand greek soldiers and I can’t wait to get my hands on another set of hormone injections.  Physical [...]

CD15 – 11/21

So egg retrieval went fine, apart from me waking up on no 20 & 21…hounesly not as bad as I imagined it to be, feels somewhat like an HSG.  Would however not like to live through 21 of those …
Anyhow, of the 21 retrieved 11 fertilised normally with 3 more possibles.  Quite a relief after [...]

CD12 – Panic Station

So today is pre-retrieval.  I woke up 5am, not feeling too keen to get out of bed (as usual), but got up anyway. Two steps out of bed and panic struck!  I didn’t feel a thing, today could’ve been a day like any other day, I jumped a little jump to check if I’m imagining [...]

CD11 – The trigger and other weird events

Today is trigger day, so we all know what I wil be doing 8pm tonight…the dreaded Ovidrel shot, yipee yai yay…yipee ya yipee ya…urrghhh…
Follie recruitment went very well, we will be interviewing about 15 of them and probably about 8 will be shortlisted to be sent on a three day expat mission in the petridish. [...]

CD10 – Simmer well for 2 days

Scan today showed a heap of 15-17mm follies, didn’t count…was too amazed at the size of them!
E2 level = 12 000, predicting an outcome of 10-12?
Probably triggering tomorrow night to retrieve on Saturday morning.
It’s Dr.V’s birthday this weekend, so the lovely Dr.G will be doing retrieval, to be quite hounest, I don’t mind who does [...]
