Porterville and other small towns…
What happens in porterville? In fact where is porterville anyway?
Wow! They even have a website! http://www.tourismporterville.co.za – who would’ve guessed!
So…what does one do in porterville? Hmmmm…the website does not say much…
Our friend Albe is being appointed (that the word for ‘bevestig’?) as ‘dominee’ there, so we’ll be having a peek at what’s happening [...]
And Murphy has his finger in the HSG pie…
Ok, so this morning I had my first HSG (Hysterosalpinogram) and as murphy would have it I came down with a stomach bug this morning – WTH!
It’s 6.00 am, 30 mins before I need to brave joburg traffic to get to the doc in Sandton at 8.00 am…my head in the basin, my behind on [...]
AMH – Debunking the myths…
Ok, so I had the AMH discussion with Dr. V and things are making a bit more sense.
At Vitalab, their avg. AMH count is 2 ng/mL – that is for an infertile community.
The max count they’ve seen in their clinic is 38 ng/mL…which was the count of an egg donor.
The avg. AMH count for the [...]
Hormone Test Reference Ranges
Ok, so i figured out what the relevant reference range for my Anti Mullerian Hormone (AMH) is. 1-10 ng/mL, so 6 is middle to high.
A very handy set of reference ranges relevant to infertility can be found here.
Some useful info on AMH
She’s an egg machine….
But it might be a bad egg machine…
Okeeee….so I got my AMH results back from the FS today. A whopping no 6. I am rather confused though…or was…or am?

Optimal Fertility 28.6 pmol/L – 48.5 pmol/L
Satisfactory Fertility 15.7 pmol/L – 28.6 pmol/L
Low Fertility 2.2 pmol/L [...]

Dietary lifestyle change is one of the first lines of treatment for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). A condition that often runs in families and leads to subfertility and sometimes infertility. The article below is a work in progress drawn from my readings on the topic.
What does it mean to be insulin resistant?
In a nutshell [...]
Personality Check
Ok, now seeing that I did finish my degree in Psychology I do have a rather dedicated interest in Psychology. By admission the degree was done mostly to make sense of my own issues and complicated family roots. Why am I not pursuing this any further? …well that’s a whole other can of worms…
Lets [...]
The Healthy Eating Experiment – Day 4 – 7
Ok, so I was absent for a day or two, or three, no need to drop my rank with 100 points! Are bloggers not allowed to have lives for pete sake! Anyway….I need to remove this ranky thing or my competitive side is going to get the best of me.

Thoughts About God
I read an article just before Christmas written by Chris Chameleon , when read mindfully and with sincerity this article really brings our thoughts about God under the magnifying glass. Who is God to you? Apologies to those who do not understand “die taal” …

The Healthy Eating Experiment – Day 3
Day 2 Ended with an Anat Pita filled with chicken breast strips and tomato with mayo and a little Mrs. Balls. (Not supposed to eat carbs for dinner…)
Day 3 was officially a health disaster. Breakfast consisted of a cheese griller breakfast with 3 pieces of toast with butter and strawberry jam…don’t ask…it involves a [...]
